Have you ever heard "Math is Power". This kind of a declaration is propaganda. Being good at math does not constitute the guarantee of power. The only thing it will guarantee is the ability to make it through grad school. Well, maybe not grad school; but at least undergrad in math or physics. And then what? Now you find out that you should have chosen an engineering degree, or have mentally prepared your-self to be in academia for the rest of your life.
The fact of the matter is, there are no jobs out there that are specifically geared towards physics majors. Believe me, I've looked. If you know of such job, please, let me know. There are jobs for: EEs, MEs, CEs, and all the other Es out there. The only jobs that like the look of BS in Physics want you to program (Systems engineering), but they might as well hire computer science majors.
The point of my bitching is " Don't pick Physics as your major, unless you like licking Ph. D. ass, or just simply don't need to work".
